Literature Text

The sliver of the moon
watches the wind
as it blows in the trees
that reflect its light.
There is no sound
in the high heavens.

The stars twinkle in the heavens,
surrounding the moon.
No human hears their sound
over that of the wind
that is gentle and light
as it ruffles the trees.

The monolithic trees
scrape the heavens
catching some of the light
cast by the beams of the moon
as the speed of the wind
picks up, increasing in sound.

A wild, feral sound
rises above the trees
as the moaning wind
carries the symphony to the heavens
to haunt the moon,
drawn to its light.

The ethereal light
emits an imperceptible sound
as it travels from the moon
past the listening trees
that reach their arms to the heavens,
ravaged by the wind.

The fury of the wind
lessens, turning soft and light
as the howling in the heavens
resonates in the sound
wood and bark of the trees
glistening beneath the moon.

The silver moon sends its kisses on the wind
down to the trees, which shudder in the light
and send a sound, a whisper of love back to the heavens.
